Job summary

VisionPower Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (VSMC) seeks an AI Application Engineer to apply modern AI techniques including LLMs and Generative AI to 300mm wafer-fab manufacturing. You will partner with Fab users, engineering, and IT teams to identify AI opportunities that improve operations, knowledge management, and decision making.

You will own the full lifecycle from requirements to deployment, with emphasis on integrating AI solutions into production fab environments and iterating based

Qualifications

• PhD in CS/AI/ML/data science or related field required.
• Strong understanding of modern AI/ML tech, esp. LLMs and Generative AI.
• Hands-on AI/ML or software development experience with AI tech.
• Strong Python programming and software development skills.
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to translate requirements into technical solutions.
• Effective communication and teamwork with diverse stakeholders.
• Experience in semiconductor context and production environments preferred.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Fab users, engineers, and stakeholders to define AI needs.
• Identify practical AI/LLM use cases for wafer-fab ops and engineering.
• Translate requirements into technical specifications and architectures.
• Design and develop AI-powered applications with cross-functional teams.
• Apply LLMs, Generative AI, RAG, AI agents, prompts, and ML where suitable.
• Leverage manufacturing data, knowledge bases, and Fab systems.
• Integrate AI apps with MES, equipment data, SPC, and other systems.
• Deploy AI solutions into production Fab environments.
• Monitor performance, reliability, usability, and AI response quality.
• Continuously improve accuracy based on real-world results.
• Collaborate with process/equipment/manufacturing teams to drive adoption.
• Ensure data security, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
• Keep up with emerging AI tech and assess applicability.
