Job summary

MICRON SEMICONDUCTOR ASIA OPERATIONS PTE. LTD. is seeking a Software Development Engineer to configure, develop, maintain, and support Micron and third-party applications in a highly automated semiconductor environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent.
• 3–5 years of software development experience.
• Knowledge of programming languages: C#, C++, SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Angular.
• Knowledge of Docker / Pod / Container.
• Knowledge of big data engineering technologies such as NiFi, Kafka, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or IIoT.
• Experience with Claude Code, Github CoPilot, etc for building enterprise agents.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and tool calling for agent integrations.

Responsibilities

• Leverage AI-assisted tools to maximize productivity and quality while following security, data-handling, and coding standards.
• Provide IT solutions to solve semiconductor manufacturing business problems.
• Participate in application lifecycle management for software systems in a highly automated semiconductor manufacturing environment.
• Engage in user requirements collection, discussion and analysis.
• Apply software development best practices to write clear and quality code, involve in code review, software QA testing, CI/CD.
• Plan and coordinate worldwide software releases, provide user and operational training, and support UAT for smooth production releases.
• Enable system performance monitoring to identify abnormalities and develop capabilities to prevent failures.
• Perform scheduled software and hardware maintenance to ensure high uptime.
• Provide continuous software operational support such as system recovery, bug fixes, and feature enhancements.
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work while complying with standards and requirements.
• Contributes to continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements.

As a Software Development Engineer at Micron you will configure, develop, maintain and support Micron and third-party applications. You will create and analyze software specifications, research, design, develop, document, modify, and support software throughout the development life cycle. You can demonstrate the functional and technical skills necessary to switch between development technologies and merge them to deliver the best solution. You have a proven ability to create quality software and participate in quality improvement efforts. You will provide solutions that create business value while at the same time minimizing negative impact through defects, downtime, or performance degradation

Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Leverage company-approved AI-assisted tools to maximize productivity and quality (e.g., accelerate requirements analysis, solution design, development, test creation, documentation, and troubleshooting), while applying engineering judgment to validate outputs and following company security, data-handling, and coding standards
• Provide IT solutions to solve semiconductor manufacturing business problems
• Participate application lifecycle management (plan, development, test, deploy & maintain) for software systems in a highly automated semiconductor manufacturing environment
• Engage in user requirements collection, discussion and analysis
• Apply software development best practices to write clear and quality code, involve in code review, software quality assurance testing, continuous integration and delivery
• Plan and coordinate worldwide software releases, provide user and operational training, and support user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure a good & smooth software release to production
• Enable system performance monitoring to identify abnormalities proactively and develop capabilities to prevent unexpected system failures
• Perform scheduled applications software and hardware maintenance to ensure high up time
• Provide continuous software operational support such as system recovery, bug fixes, and feature enhancements
• Integrates AI-assisted tools and insights into daily work to improve efficiency, quality, or effectiveness, exercising sound judgment and complying with organizational standards and legal requirements.
• Contributes to a culture of continuous improvement by identifying, testing, and sharing AI-enabled enhancements within one's scope of work.

Minimum Required Qualifications/Experience

• Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent , with 3-5 years of software development experience
• Knowledge of programming languages such as C#, C++, SQL, Python, Java, JavaScript, and Angular
• Knowledge of Docker / Pod / Container
• Knowledge of big data engineering technologies such as NiFi, Kafka, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT)
• Experience with Claude Code, Github CoPilot, etc for building enterprise agents.
• Familiarity with Model Context Protocol (MCP) and tool or function calling for agent integrations.
