Job summary

ByteDance's Seed project team is seeking a Project Intern to join the AI Data and Safety group. You will help research AI safety developments, assist in designing safety evaluation frameworks for multi-models, and contribute to data generation pipelines and safety training efforts.

This role offers hands-on experience in a fast-paced environment, exposure to real-world safety challenges, and opportunities to learn from researchers and engineers across disciplines.

Qualifications

• Pursuing Bachelor's degree in AI Policy, Public Policy, Political Science, International Relations, Law, Philosophy, or a related discipline.
• Strong analytical skills to interpret qualitative and quantitative data into insights.
• Creative problem-solving mindset and ability to work under ambiguity using tools to improve processes.
• Experience with prompt engineering, agent skills, and automated data generation pipelines is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Help to conduct research on the latest developments in AI safety across academia and industry, and support identifying limitations in evaluation paradigms.
• Aid in designing and refining safety evaluation frameworks for multi-models to assess safety-related behaviors and alignment with responsible AI principles.
• Support projects to enforce safety training or evaluate safety data, including data analysis to inform model iteration and product design improvements.
• Assist in designing, testing, and implementing automated workflows ensuring scalability and coverage within safety contexts.
