Job summary

A*STAR RESEARCH ENTITIES is seeking a competent engineer to advance AI/ML driven robotics and automation projects. You will engage with stakeholders to translate problem statements into actionable requirements, study new technologies, and propose robust solutions.

You will design and develop both hardware and software components, validate concepts through simulations and prototypes, and lead project efforts from proposal to deployment in industrial settings.

Qualifications

• At least 3 years of AI/ML robotics and/or software development experience.
• Experience deploying industry-ready AI/ML based robotics and automation systems.

Responsibilities

• Discuss with stakeholders to understand problem statements, requirements and expectations.
• Study new technologies, evaluate pros/cons, and recommend suitable tools for AI-driven robotics and automation projects.
• Validate concepts using virtual models, simulations, and physical prototypes.
• Design and develop physical/software modules and system components.
• Test and validate systems and solutions developed by project teams.
• Develop detailed technical proposals addressing complex industry challenges, including automation and robotics.
• Lead robotics and automation projects for grant-funded research and direct industrial problems.
• Collaborate with system integrators and vendors to deploy AI-based automation in real environments.
• Prepare technical documentation and present findings.
