Job summary

Evonik (SEA) Pte. Ltd. is seeking a seasoned AI/ML professional to lead the deployment of AI-based solutions in industrial manufacturing.

You will own end-to-end AI projects from problem framing to integration into operational processes, while coaching teams in adopting AI capabilities across functions. The role emphasizes scaling production-grade ML/LLM systems, leveraging modern cloud architectures and Kubernetes, and collaborating with external partners within governance frameworks.

Qualifications

• Several years of experience in technical consulting and enabling AI-driven workflows in operational processes.
• Proven experience in productive use of modern ML and LLM-based approaches, including prompt engineering and agent-based systems.
• Solid understanding of ML/LLM models, lifecycle, validation, and limitations, plus knowledge of modern cloud architectures.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and deploy AI-based solutions into production within industrial manufacturing environments.
• Conduct data- and model-driven analyses to identify and implement optimization potential.
• Own AI projects from problem definition to integration into operational processes.
• Advance existing solutions and design new AI methods, products, and technologies (R&D).

RESPONSIBILITIES

• AI & Production Deployment: Development, implementation, and transition of AI-based solutions into production use within industrial manufacturing environments
• Data Analysis & Optimization: Conducting data- and model-driven analyses to identify and implement optimization potential
• Project Ownership: End-to-end responsibility for AI projects - from problem definition to integration into operational processes
• Innovation & R&D: Further development of existing solutions as well as the design of new innovative methods, products, and technologies (R&D)
• Coaching & Enablement: Coaching and enabling employees in the field of artificial intelligence
• Project Management & Partners: Planning, managing, and executing projects, including collaboration with external service providers within a governance framework
• Consulting & Standards: Advising clients, ensuring reporting, and further developing standards, methods, and tools

REQUIREMENTS

• Professional Experience: Several years of experience in technical consulting, enablement, and the introduction of data- and AI-driven workflows in operational processes, including experience in developing, operating, and scaling production-grade ML/AI systems
• Experience: Proven experience in the productive use of modern ML and LLM-based approaches (including prompt engineering and agent-based systems) and integration of AI solutions into existing tool and system landscapes
• Knowledge: Solid understanding of ML and LLM models, including model lifecycle, validation, and limitations, as well as knowledge of modern cloud architectures and their use in AI/ML environments
• IT Skills: Strong Python skills, experience with Microsoft Azure
• Additional Qualifications: Knowledge of process modeling and simulation, experience with Kubernetes, and Infrastructure as Code, as well as competencies in combining simulation, machine learning, and optimization with basic know-how in operations research
• Soft Skills: Responsible team player with a hands-on mentality and strong communication skills in interdisciplinary and intercultural environments
