Job summary

Trust Recruit Pte Ltd in Singapore seeks a junior data/ML engineer to assist in building anomaly detection models for shipboard systems. You will clean data, engineer features from time-series sensor data, and help train and evaluate models while tuning alarms for production readiness.

Contribute to the enterprise AI diagnostic assistant by handling data ingestion, embeddings, and retrieval testing. You will support the in-house LLM platform and build web apps/APIs to deliver AI outputs,

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or a related field. (No experience is welcome to apply)
• Strong Python skills; working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript is required for the web and API work.
• Understanding of machine learning fundamentals: model training, evaluation metrics and validation.
• Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow through coursework, internships or personal projects.
• Able to use AI coding assistants (e.g. Claude Code, Codex, Cursor) effectively to speed up development, and to review and test the generated code rather than accept it blindly.
• Comfortable with Linux and Git.
• Exposure to LLMs, RAG or vector databases is an advantage; training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist in developing and maintaining anomaly detection models and applications for shipboard machinery.
• Perform data cleaning, feature engineering and analysis on time-series sensor data from vessel equipment.
• Support model training, evaluation and alarm threshold tuning, and document results for review.
• Support the enterprise AI diagnostic assistant: document ingestion, embedding generation and retrieval testing.
• Assist in deploying and operating the in-house LLM platform, including model serving and GPU monitoring.
• Build and maintain web applications and APIs (Python, JavaScript, SQL) to deliver AI outputs to users.
• Prepare technical documentation and test reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform otherduties and ad-hoc assignments as directed by the team lead and department manager.
