Job summary

MCI CAREER SERVICES PTE. LTD. is seeking a data science/ML engineer to develop anomaly detection models and shipboard data solutions in Singapore. You will cleanse data, engineer features, and analyze time-series sensor data while supporting model training and evaluation.

You will help deploy and operate the in-house LLM platform, build web apps and APIs, and prepare documentation for stakeholders. Fresh graduates are welcome, with a strong Python/ML foundation and good teamwork.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, Data Science, IT, or related field (fresh graduates preferred).
• Proficient in Python; working knowledge of SQL and JavaScript for web/API work.
• Understanding of ML fundamentals: training, metrics, validation.
• Hands-on experience with pandas, NumPy and scikit-learn.
• Familiarity with PyTorch or TensorFlow through coursework or projects.
• Able to use AI coding assistants to speed up development while reviewing generated code.
• Comfortable with Linux and Git.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Available to start immediately / on short notice.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain anomaly detection models and apps for shipboard machinery.
• Perform data cleaning, feature engineering and analysis on time-series sensor data.
• Support model training, evaluation and alarm threshold tuning, document results.
• Support enterprise AI diagnostic assistant: document ingestion, embedding generation and retrieval testing.
• Assist in deploying and operating the in-house LLM platform, including model serving and GPU monitoring.
• Build and maintain web apps and APIs (Python, JavaScript, SQL) to deliver AI outputs.
• Prepare technical documentation and test reports for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Perform other duties and ad-hoc assignments as directed by the team lead and department manager.
