Job summary

Temasek is offering an AI/Machine Learning Intern role to join a cross-functional team of engineers, designers, analysts, and product managers. You will build in-house analytics and AI-powered solutions supporting investment decision-making, talent management, and productivity initiatives.

Qualifications

• A full-time commitment for a minimum of 20 weeks is required.
• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks for multi-agent systems.
• Knowledge of embeddings, semantic search, and document processing.
• Prior internship or project experience in production AI applications.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, IT, Computer Engineering, or related fields.
• Strong Python, SQL, and Pandas development skills.
• Excellent communication and ability to work with minimal supervision.

• Participate in agile activities, including sprint planning and standups.
• Collaborate on technical design, API contracts, and DB schema for new requirements.

Introduction

As an AI/Machine Learning Intern at Temasek, you will join a cross-functional product team comprising engineers, designers, business analysts, and product managers to build innovative in-house analytics and AI-powered solutions. You will have the opportunity to gain hand-on experience in developing AI applications, agentic workflows, and data-driven products that support key business areas such as investment decision-making, talent management, and workplace productivity.

Working alongside experienced professionals, you will contribute to the design, development, testing, and deployment of AI solutions while building your skills in modern AI/ML technologies, software engineering, and agile product delivery. This internship is ideal for individuals who are passionate about AI, enjoy solving complex problems, and are eager to learn in a collaborative and fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Working knowledge of modern AI/ML frameworks and tools (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, OpenAI API, Anthropic Claude API, HuggingFace)


• Hands-on experience building or working with agentic workflows and autonomous AI systems


• Understanding of prompt engineering techniques and LLM optimization strategies


• Familiarity with Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) and vector databases


• Demonstrated ability to write clean, maintainable code with attention


• Take part in Agile activities like sprint planning, standups, reviews, retros etc.


• Collaborate with the team to come up with technical design, API contracts, DB schema etc. for new requirements


• Implement features or data transformations with focus on code readability, maintainability, and performance


• Write unit tests and integration tests for the above


• Communicate with the team regarding requirements, priority, blockers etc.


• Document processes that might be helpful for other team members

Requirements

• Able to commit full-time for a minimum of 20 weeks. Interns who are able to commit to a full-time (5 days/week) or a minimum of part-time (4 days/week) internship is strongly preferred.


• Familiarity with orchestration frameworks for multi-agent systems


• Knowledge of embeddings, semantic search, and document processing


• Prior internship or project experience in production AI application


• Pursuing a Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, and/or related fields


• Development knowledge and experience in Python, SQL, Pandas


• Strong communication skills


• Ability to work with minimal supervision
