Job summary

OpenAI is seeking a product manufacturing engineer in SF to drive manufacturing and quality initiatives from concept through mass production with a focus on PCB/PCBA fabrication and test. You will lead design and manufacturing processes for next-gen AI hardware, coordinating with design, operations, TPMs and external vendors to ensure on-time, high-quality delivery.

You will establish NPIs, implement robust quality controls, and perform hands-on manufacturing analysis across design, prototyping

Qualifications

• Experience leading manufacturing initiatives from concept to production.
• Ability to oversee PCB/PCBA manufacturing and related tests.
• Proven track record in establishing NPIs and quality controls.

Responsibilities

• Drive manufacturing and quality initiatives from concept to launch.
• Lead design and manufacturing process for next-gen AI hardware.
• Establish NPI manufacturing processes, systems and quality controls.
• Provide hands-on manufacturing analysis during design, development and production.
• Research automation techniques and develop new tests for efficiency.
• Own L6-L10 product manufacturing development including PCB/PCBA and assembly.
• Develop and manage manufacturing requirements, scope, schedules and deliverables with teams and suppliers.
• Communicate effectively with cross-functional teams to ensure program success.
• Perform risk assessment, mitigation and change management on projects.
• Manage multiple projects and monitor progress to meet deadlines.
