Kaplan Singapore is seeking an AI Engineer to join our IT team. You will work hands-on with LLMs, APIs and cloud technologies to build practical AI-enabled applications.

This early-career role offers hands-on experience from prototype to production, with exposure to the latest generative AI developments and practical project work.

Qualifications

• Entry-level or up to two years of relevant experience.
• Strong Python and software engineering fundamentals.
• Exposure to generative AI and LLM applications.
• Understanding of APIs, databases and Git.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms is desirable.
• React or Next.js experience is an advantage.
• Internships, university projects and strong personal AI projects are relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Build AI prototypes and production features.
• Integrate LLMs using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Bedrock or similar services.
• Develop APIs and backend services in Python / Typescript.
• Work with RAG, embeddings, vector search and tool calling.
• Test and evaluate AI quality, reliability and safety.
• Support deployment, monitoring and optimization.

THE ROLE: AI Engineer

Join our IT team and help build practical AI solutions that turn emerging technologies into real-world applications. As an AI Engineer, you will work hands-on with large language models (LLMs), APIs and modern cloud technologies to develop and support AI-enabled applications.

This is an exciting opportunity for an early-career engineer who is keen to deepen their technical skills, experiment with the latest developments in generative AI, and gain practical experience building AI solutions from prototype through to production.

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI prototypes and production features.
• Integrate LLMs using OpenAI, Azure OpenAI, Amazon Bedrock or similar services.
• Develop APIs and backend services, preferably in Python / Typescript.
• Work with retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, vector search and tool calling.
• Test and evaluate AI quality, reliability and safety.
• Support deployment, monitoring and optimization.
