Job summary

The ICE Cybersecurity Automation team builds and maintains secure backend services that automate global information security workflows in a regulated financial infrastructure environment. The engineer focuses on backend APIs, databases, and integrations supporting Red Team, Blue Team, Threat Intelligence, Application Security, and GRC.

The role blends software development, AI-assisted coding, system administration, and command-line troubleshooting.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of software development with backend focus.
• Proficient in Python and Django or similar backend framework.
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, auth and integration troubleshooting.
• SQL and relational database design, migrations and query optimization.
• Linux system administration, Bash scripting, and network basics.
• Experience with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD; familiarity with Jenkins and Docker.
• Understanding of secure coding, secrets management, least privilege, and security risks.

Responsibilities

• Design and maintain secure backend applications and automation services.
• Develop APIs and platform integrations; build data pipelines and SQL queries.
• Use AI-assisted coding tools; review and validate generated code for security.
• Administer Linux app environments; manage services, permissions, logs, and configs.
• Automate testing, deployments, and provisioning via CI/CD and containers.
• Collaborate with security teams to deliver automation, analytics, and runbooks.
