Nanyang Technological University in Singapore invites applications for a Research Associate (Crop Experiments and Sensing) to join an NRF-funded AI-for-Science Catalytic Grant project. The role focuses on greenhouse operations, crop experiments, and plant proximal/remote sensing.

You will coordinate experiments, manage data pipelines, and liaise with industry partners to advance AI-driven urban farming systems for yield optimization.

Competenze

• Master’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field.
• Advanced knowledge in proximal/remote sensing and cameras.
• Experience with image processing and programming.
• At least 2 years of relevant experience with agritech IoT equipment.
• Experience in plant/crop experiments and phenotyping is advantageous.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

Mansioni

• Deploy, operate, and maintain proximal sensing systems for CEA.
• Maintain data pipelines and adapt code for different crops.
• Consolidate data for ML modeling; manage databases and backups.
• Coordinate with vendors to troubleshoot sensing issues.
• Monitor experiments with phenotyping software and irrigation scheduling.
• Coordinate greenhouse operations with the manager: manpower, seedling production, fertigation, and hardware support.
• Prepare progress reports for funding agencies.
