Qualifications

• PhD in a related field (ecology, biogeochemistry, Earth/soil science, environmental science, hydrology, computer science)
• Familiarity with soil carbon/element cycles
• Experience in process-based modeling, Earth system model simulations, data assimilation, large-scale data collection/synthesis, HPC, and deep learning
• Strong academic writing and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Lead soil organic carbon model development and optimization (microbial processes, stoichiometry)
• Lead crop model development and optimization (nutrient uptake and yield dynamics)
• Global soil meta-databases collection, integration and synthesis
• Earth system model module integration, scenario simulations, prognostics analyses
• Develop physics-informed deep learning/hybrid modeling approaches
