Job summary

Activate Interactive Pte Ltd in Singapore is seeking a Backend Engineer to design, build, deploy, and operate secure backend services enabling AI, machine learning, and generative AI solutions for government systems and digital services.

You will work closely with product, policy, data, cybersecurity, DevOps and platform teams to translate operational needs into reliable, production-ready systems, applying strong software engineering fundamentals and an interest in AI-enabled products and

Qualifications

• Degree in CS/IT with 1–2 years in AI/ML or related roles
• Hands-on backend services, APIs, integrations for AI-enabled services
• Strong Python programming and API development
• Experience with LLMs, embeddings, retrieval-augmented generation
• Knowledge of MLOps, monitoring, logging, and production support
• Understanding of data protection, security, and risk in government context
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCC)
• Familiarity with CI/CD, DevSecOps, version control, testing
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills

Responsibilities

• Design, build, deploy, and operate secure backend services for AI solutions
• Translate requirements into designs and implementation plans
• Develop model pipelines, APIs, and integrations
• Test models for accuracy, reliability, robustness, safety
• Implement responsible AI controls and explainability
