Job summary

ST Engineering Advanced Networks & Sensors is seeking a capable software engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain enterprise-grade applications. You will collaborate with architects, product managers, QA, and DevOps to deliver scalable AI-enabled connectivity solutions.

The role requires 4–5 years of hands-on development experience with Java, Python, or similar languages, and a strong understanding of APIs, databases, and modern development practices.

Qualifications

• Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, or TypeScript.
• Good understanding of software architecture, OOP, data structures and secure coding practices.

The role will report to the Lead Solution Architect. He/She will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, and maintaining enterprise-grade software applications that support AI-enabled digital products and advanced connectivity solutions. The ideal candidate should have at least 4 to 5 years of hands-onapplication software development experience, with strong technical capability in full-stack or backend development, API integration, databases, code quality, testing, and deployment practices. He/She will work closely with solution architects, AI engineers, product managers, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and stakeholders to deliver scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions. The role requires a proactive developer who can translate business requirements into robust technical solutions, guide junior developers when required, and apply modern development practices including AI-assisted coding, automated testing, and continuous integration.

• Design, develop, enhance, and maintain enterprise,web-based, and cloud-ready applications
• Translate business and functional requirements into technical design, application features, and implementation tasks
• Develop clean, secure, scalable, and maintainable code following software engineering best practices
• Build and integrate RESTful APIs, backend services, databases, and third-party systems
• Perform code reviews, code validation, debugging, troubleshooting and performance optimisation
• Develop and maintain unit tests, integration tests and automated test scripts to ensure software quality
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, release management, and DevOps practices
• Apply AI-assisted development tools, where appropriate, to improve productivity while ensuring code correctness and maintainability
• Collaborate with solution architects, product owners, QA, DevOps, UX, and cross-functional teams in an Agile development environment
• Provide technical guidance to junior developers and support continuous improvement of development standards and practices

Qualities We Value

• Knowledge in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
• At least 4 to 5years of hands-on experience in application software development
• Strong programming experience in one or more languages such as Java, Python, C#,JavaScript, or TypeScript
• Good understanding of software architecture, object-oriented programming, data structures, design patterns, and secure coding practices
• Experience in frontend, backend, or full-stack development using modern web frameworks and application platforms
• Experience developing and integrating APIs, microservices, databases, and enterprise applications
• Proficient inversion control tools such as Git and familiar with branching, merging, and peer review workflows
• Working knowledge of SQL or NoSQL databases, data modelling, and application performance optimisation
• Experience with testing practices including unit testing, integration testing, test automation and defect resolution
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, containerisation, cloud platforms, and DevOps tools will be advantageous
• Experience using AI coding assistants or AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot will be advantageous
• Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, communication, and teamwork skills
• Ability to work independently, take ownership of assigned modules, and deliver quality software within project timelines
