Job summary

Collins Aerospace, an RTX company, is seeking an evacuation slide packing technician to assemble parts, fold and test inflatable assemblies per the Component Maintenance Manual. The role is physical and team-based to meet quality, safety, and output requirements.

You will read technical orders, handle dangerous goods, and use measuring tools. SAP knowledge is preferred. Training will be provided for aviation-specific procedures; prior aviation experience is welcome but not required.

Qualifications

• GCE O/N Level or equivalent with engineering background.
• Experience with slide packing is a plus.
• Ability to read, write and understand English.
• Ability to read and work from technical orders, drawings and manuals.
• Knowledge of SAP is preferred.
• Willingness to perform physically demanding work.

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-component parts and perform final testing per CMM.
• Fold and pack inflatable assemblies per CMM and packing instructions.
• Handle dangerous goods following safety procedures.
• Meet production schedule at cell level and resolve issues promptly.
• Work closely with supervisor and support personnel to address problems.
• Adhere to AS9110C and Airworthiness Part 145 requirements.
• Use measuring tools such as torque wrench, calipers, micrometers, bore and depth gauges.
• Comply with EH&S policies and export control regulations.
• Participate in process improvement and safety activities.
