Job summary

Pratt & Whitney in Singapore is seeking an Evacuation Slide Aerospace Technician to support parts assembly, testing, and packing of inflatable components in accordance with maintenance manuals.

You will handle dangerous goods, operate measuring tools, and read technical orders, drawings, and orders to ensure safety and quality. The role includes training in aviation-specific procedures and a strong emphasis on teamwork and compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE "O" Level, ITE/NITEC in mechanical, mechatronic, or related field
• Ability to read and understand technical manuals, orders, drawings
• Computer literacy; SAP knowledge preferred
• Good communication skills in English (oral and written)
• Willingness to perform physical tasks and work with potentially hazardous materials

Responsibilities

• Assemble sub-component parts and perform testing per CMM requirements
• Handle and pack inflatable components for evacuation slides
• Adhere to safety procedures when handling dangerous goods
• Read and follow CMM and packing instructions
• Coordinate with supervisor and support staff to resolve issues

As an Evacuation Slide Aerospace Technician, you will be expected to perform parts assembly, handle dangerous goods components, fold, pack and test inflatable in accordance with the component maintenance manual requirements. Technicians will work in a dynamic and physical demanding work environment and in a team setting to meet the high demand of quality, safety, and output requirement.

Responsibilities:

• Perform work at cell level to meet the production schedule.
• Inspect and assemble all sub-component parts and perform final testing in accordance with CMM (Component Maintenance Manual) requirement.
• Adhere strictly to the safety procedures and requirements when handling dangerous goods.
• Perform folding and packing of inflatable in accordance with CMM and Packing Instructions requirements.
• Promptly resolve issues and ensure all repair cost estimates are updated accurately.
• Work in close cooperation with the supervisor and other support personnel to resolve problems when necessary.
• Adhere to Quality Management System (e.g. AS9110C / Airworthiness Part 145 requirement)
• Understand the use of common measuring equipment like torque wrench, calipers, micrometers, bore and depth gauges.
• Comply with all Environment, Health & Safety policies, and regulations
• Complies with all US and Singapore Export Control Regulations
• Actively participate in process improvement and environmental, health and safety activities.

Requirements:

• Minimum GCE "O" Level, ITE/ NITEC in the field of mechanical, mechatronic, or other engineering discipline or equivalent experience Personal with similar experience in slide packing would have added advantage
• Ability to read, write and understand English
• Ability to read and work from technical and service manuals, technical orders, sales orders, specification, drawings, and other written instructions
• Computer literacy (Knowledge in SAP will be preferred)
• Good communication skills needed, both oral and written
• Able and willing to carry out physical activities work
• Ability to understand knots tying and fabric folding methods or concepts.
