Job summary

PwC Singapore is seeking an Intern/Trainee in Assurance with a focus on Risk Services. You’ll join a team delivering insights across people, processes, and data to help clients manage risk and resilience.

The role offers exposure to actuarial concepts, data analysis, and client-facing communication, within a global network. Training and mentorship are provided in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Students in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or related disciplines with analytical/quantitative component.
• A self-driven learner with ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and techniques.
• Structured, methodical research, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.

About Risk Services

Our Risk Services Practice provides an invaluable safeguard in today’s complex operating environment with insights and independent assurance. We work with clients to deliver business control to help them to protect and strengthen every aspect of their business from people to performance, systems to strategy, business plans to business resilience. We help clients manage, mitigate and control risks from potential cybersecurity breaches to possible breaks in the supply chain. We assess and prepare businesses by looking into their technology, finance, data analytics, regulatory requirements, data security and privacy, internal audit, and the third parties our clients rely on, to help clients deliver quality results and meet their strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

As an Intern/Trainee, you’ll work as part of a team of problem solvers with extensive consulting and industry experience, helping our clients solve their complex business issues from strategy to execution.

• You’ll be a part of an environment that broadens your functional training, personal and technical skills, and deepens your knowledge of client services.
• You’ll play an integral role supporting staff as needed for an outstanding variety of work and making contributions to the team on a daily basis.

What We Are Looking For

• Students in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics or other related disciplines that possesses an analytical and quantitative component
• A self-driven learner with the ability to quickly learn and apply new tools and techniques such as proprietary actuarial software and cash flow models
• An appreciation for structured methodical research, critical thinking and problem-solving skills with an understanding for the application of these skills in the business environment
• A natural curiosity to identify, investigate and explain trends and patterns in data
• An ability to analyse and break down complex concepts and technical findings into clear and simple language for communication to team members and clients
• Knowledge of any of the following will be an added advantage:
• Programming (e.g. VBA, C++, Java, Python)
• An analytical software (e.g. R, SAS)
