Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 2+ years in accounts payable and/or CAPEX management.
• Knowledge of GAAP and CAPEX accounting principles.
• Experience with SAP, Oracle or QuickBooks and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Manage month-end closing and fixed assets sub-ledger for capitalization, depreciation and disposal.
• Monitor CAPEX projects and report expenditure with variance analysis.
• Assist budgeting of capital needs and ROI analysis.
• Process asset additions, retirements, transfers and impairments per policies.
• Prepare CAPEX reports aligned with cash flow planning.
• Conduct fixed assets verification and audits to ensure proper tracking and controls.
• Support audit processes with inputs on accounting processes.
• Support automation and process improvements in fixed assets accounting and CAPEX management.
• Administer grant applications for qualifying capital expenditures and ensure timely submission.
• Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned.

Job Summary

The CAPEX Accountant will be responsible for overseeing and managing capital expenditure, fixed assets, and related financial reporting. This role requires a detail-oriented professional with strong accounting knowledge, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to communicate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage month-end closing activities and ensure completeness and accuracy of fixed assets sub-ledger in relations to capitalization, depreciation and disposal
• Monitor and track capital expenditure (CAPEX) projects to ensure they are executed within the approved budget, reporting expenditure and providing variance analysis
• Assist in budgeting capital needs for projects, conduct ROI analysis and provide insights on capital spend trends
• Review and process assets additions, retirements, transfers and impairments in compliance with company policies and accounting standards (IFRS/US GAAP)
• Prepare CAPEX reports and align CAPEX spending with cash flow planning
• Conduct periodic fixed assets verification and physical audits to ensure proper assets tracking and reporting. Ensure compliance with relevant accounting regulations, internal controls, and company policies
• Provide inputs and handle queries on the processes handled during audit
• Support automation initiatives and implement process improvement related to fixed assets accounting and Capex management to enhance efficiency
• Administer grant applications on qualifying capital expenditures and ensure timely submission
• Undertake ad-hoc duties as assigned

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
• 2+ years of experience in accounts payable and/or CAPEX management
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting principles related to CAPEX
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., SAP, Oracle, QuickBooks) and Excel
• Strong attention to detail, organizational, and analytical skills
• Independent, proactive with a positive and hands-on attitude
