Job summary

The National Metrology Centre (NMC), part of A*STAR in Singapore, invites applications for the role of Manager, Measurement Science & Engineering. You will lead a team driving precision measurement and calibration activities to support national infrastructure.

Based in Singapore, you will develop innovative calibration methods, oversee quality systems, and collaborate with international partners to advance metrology science and national strategic initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and improve national electrical measurement standards for traceability and accuracy.
• Perform high-precision calibration and measurement services for industry, government, and research.
• Develop and validate new calibration methods and technical procedures for emerging technologies.
• Implement and maintain ISO/IEC 17025 aligned quality management systems and support accreditation.
• Provide technical consultancy, training, and proficiency testing across sectors.
• Conduct applied research and collaborate with local and international partners.
• Represent Singapore in international metrology comparisons, standards development, and committees.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements

• Maintain, enhance, and develop national electrical measurement standards to ensure traceability, accuracy, and international recognition.
• Perform high-precision calibration and measurement services for industry, government, and research organizations.
• Develop and validate new calibration methods, measurement capabilities, and technical procedures to support emerging technologies.
• Implement and maintain laboratory quality management systems in compliance with ISO/IEC 17025 and support accreditation activities.
• Provide technical consultancy, training, and proficiency testing to strengthen measurement capabilities across industry and public sectors.
• Conduct applied research and collaborate with local and international partners to advance metrology science and support national strategic initiatives.
• Participate in international metrology comparisons, standards development, and technical committees to represent Singapore in the global metrology community.
