The National University of Singapore invites applications for a Research Fellow (3DPC structures) at the College of Design and Engineering, Civil and Environmental Engineering. The project focuses on 3D printed concrete structures to enhance protection under impact loading.

The successful candidate will develop a printing mix design, run lab tests, fabricate specimens, perform high-speed tests, and conduct finite element studies.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with at least 5 years of relevant experience

Job Description

This project investigates the use of 3D printed concrete structures for protection against impact loading conditions. The researcher is expected to develop a printing mix design to improve the material resistance and to optimize the structural design against high-rate loading conditions.

The researcher is expected to

• conduct laboratory tests on mix designs
• fabricate 3DPC specimens
• conduct high impact tests on the specimens

Job Requirements

• Possess a PhD degree in a relevant field, with at least 5 years of relevant experience in the following areas:
• Concrete mix designs
• Structural resilience analysis
• Finite element modelling.
• Strong written and spoken communications.
