Job summary

MAXHUNT RESOURCE PTE. LTD. is engaged to provide mentoring and counselling services at Geylang Methodist School (Secondary) to support at-risk students and families. The role involves early intervention, case assessment, planning individual plans, and safeguarding throughout the school term.

Selected personnel will work three days a week, 9:00am–3:00pm, with one-hour breaks; no weekend or gazetted holiday work, and hours may be extended by mutual agreement to meet service needs.

Qualifications

• Must be an Accredited Social Worker or MOE-certified as specified in the tender.
• Experience in facilitation and hands-on approaches to engage and motivate students.
• Ability to work with at-risk students and their families to support their potential.

Responsibilities

• Provide regular mentoring, counselling and early intervention for up to ten secondary students with attendance or reintegration challenges.
• Assess cases, formulate intervention plans and review progress with safeguarding considerations.
• Build positive relationships and support holistic development and sustained attendance.
• Plan and conduct tailored individual and group interventions, including psychosocial support.
• Counsel families where issues affect student progress and conduct home visits with prior school approvals.

Job description

Name of Authority: Geylang Methodist School (Secondary)

Contract Period: 11 January 2027 to 3 September 2027.

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Three days per week: 9:00am to 3:00pm, including a one-hour break (five engagement hours per session).
• No service required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays.
• Working hours may be extended for service needs or adjusted by mutual agreement with the school.

Requirements:

• Accredited Social Worker, or supervised by a registered Social Service Agency; MOE-certified personnel as specified in the tender.
• Skills in facilitation and hands-on approaches to engage and motivate students.
• Ability and commitment to work constructively with at-risk students and their families, with a positive belief in their potential.
• Competence in case management, counselling and the assigned youth-support responsibilities.
• At least three years of relevant experience is preferred, particularly in the social service sector supporting at-risk students and families.

Job Scopes:

The Services required are set out as follows:

1. Provide regular mentoring, counselling and early intervention for up to ten selected Secondary 2 to 5 students facing attendance, engagement or return-to-school difficulties.
2. Assess cases, formulate individual intervention plans, review progress and monitor risks and safeguarding needs.
3. Build positive relationships with students and support their holistic development, reintegration into school routines and sustained attendance.
4. Plan and conduct tailored individual and group interventions, including psychosocial and therapeutic support aligned with the school's character-development efforts.
5. Engage and counsel families where family circumstances affect student progress; conduct necessary home visits with prior school approval and a teacher accompanying the visit.
6. Identify and report students' needs to Student Management Key Personnel or School Leaders for further intervention and support.
7. Work professionally with the Student Management and Student Development teams, maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries, and follow the school's safety procedures and Annex C Expectations of Instructor.
