Job summary

Northland Secondary School requires a Youth Worker to support students on Tue/Wed/Thu, 8:00am–5:00pm (24 hours/week). The role involves delivering evidence-informed programmes, engaging students and building partnerships with teachers, parents and external agencies.

Candidates should have a Diploma in Social or Youth Work and at least two years of relevant experience, with strong monitoring, planning and group-facilitation skills. This is a contract position through MAXHUNT RESOURCE PTE. LTD.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Social or Youth Work or equivalent.
  • At least two years of relevant experience in social or youth work, preferably in a school or community setting.
  • Ability to develop, customise and deliver evidence-informed youth programmes that address students’ needs and interests.
  • Ability to engage students and build effective partnerships with teachers, school leaders, parents and external agencies as part of a multi-disciplinary support network.
  • Strong programme monitoring and evaluation skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement.
  • Ability to assess students’ needs and develop appropriate case, care and intervention plans.
  • Ability to facilitate group work and support groups, and adapt intervention approaches according to students’ needs.
  • A strong team player who is organised, adaptable and able to manage multiple students, programmes and competing priorities effectively.
  • Demonstrates sound professional judgement, discretion and sensitivity when engaging with students and handling confidential or sensitive matters.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver evidence-informed youth programmes addressing students’ needs.

Job description

Name of Authority: Northland Secondary School
Contract Period: From 4 Jan 2027 to 29 Oct 2027.
The Services required are set out as follows:
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
  • Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays: 8:00am to 5:00pm (inclusive of 1hr compulsory lunch break)
  • Estimated number of working hours per week = 8 hours x 3 days = 24 hours
  • Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays The total estimated contract hours are: 936 hours
  • Term 1 (10 weeks) = 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours
  • Term 2 (10 weeks) = 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours
  • Jun school holidays (2 weeks only) = 2 x 24 = 48 hours
  • Term 3 (10 weeks) = 10 x 24 hours = 240 hours
  • Term 4 (7 weeks only) = 7 x 24 = 168 hours Youth Worker will attend to cases on all days of the week as mentioned above.
Requirements:

The personnel shall minimally have the following qualifications, skills an experience:

  • A Diploma in Social or Youth work or any equivalent qualification;
  • At least two years of relevant experience in social work or youth work, preferably in a school or community setting.
