Job summary

Private Advertiser is seeking a school laboratory support staff to prepare resources, set up and maintain Science teaching materials and equipment. The role involves stock checks, cleanliness, and safe disposal of laboratory waste in a school setting.

Flexibility to adjust hours to school operations is required, with a fixed-term contract from 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027 and an option to extend for one more year, Singapore-based.

Qualifications

• Minimum GCE 'N' Level or equivalent.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and willing to learn new IT skills.
• Science laboratory management or resource support experience is preferred.
• Experience in a school environment is an advantage.

Responsibilities

• Prepare resources and materials for Science laboratory activities, enrichment programmes and competitions.
• Set up and clean up materials and equipment before and after laboratory lessons.
• Label and maintain records of Science teaching materials and laboratory apparatus.
• Conduct stock checks and update stock and breakage records.
• Maintain laboratory equipment, materials and specimens in good working condition.
• Maintain the cleanliness and organisation of Science laboratories and storerooms.
• Dispose of laboratory waste according to safety procedures.
• Check laboratory safety devices and replenish first-aid supplies.
• Record and report incidents to the Science HOD.
• Perform filing and other duties assigned by the school.

Job description

Contract Period: From 1 Jan 2027 to 31 Dec 2027

Option to extend: Further period of 1 year

Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:

• Monday, Tuesday and Fridays: 7:00am to 5:00pm
• Wednesdays and Thursdays: 7:00am to 4:30pm
• Inclusive of 1-hour lunch break
• Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
• Working hours may be adjusted according to the school's operational requirements
