Role: Technical Support Chemist (Segregation)
Salary: $3,300 - $3,600 + Sign On bonus (T&C apply)
Working Hours: 5 Days Monday to Friday: 8am to 5pm
Location: Tuas (Company Transport / Transport Allowance $120 if candidate possess own transport)
Requirements
- Minimum Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Chemistry, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant experience / Entry level are welcome
Job scope
Operations & Waste Management
- To supervise and support the functions of incoming waste segregation including bulk waste and loose waste as well as weighbridge.
- Ensure incoming waste streams being checked properly for suitable treatment processes.
- To supervise and monitor incoming waste verification and discrepancy management - As the core coordinator, lead and monitor the communication flow among internal departments on incoming waste discrepancy.
- Space management - Act as the core coordinator to liaise with operation department to treat, receive or store their waste after assigning.
Operation & Performance Improvement
- To constantly monitor improve the department performance. To conduct periodic review of existing work flows and procedures to recommend improvements as well as executing the improvement plans.
- To proactively evaluate and improvise existing treatment method to optimize the treatment cost/method especially to identify recovery/reuse value of the waste.
- To develop treatment methods and handling procedures for new or unknown wastes.
Plant, Safety & People Management
- Daily and regular inspection of the plant processes and monitor the working area 5S and TPM activities, safety and discipline at works, machineries and equipment conditions.
- Regular briefing / training to be conducted to department staffs for safety handling of incoming waste (e.g.: high flammable solvent, MSDS, PPE requirement and risk assessment before operations).
Emergency Response & Cross-Department Coordination
- To advise on technical aspects for emergency response team during emergency activation in-house or at customer site.
- To liaise with EHS department to ensure team members comply to all safety regulations including to upkeep with method of handling and emergency equipment and always ready during emergency to response in time.
