About the Role
We are seeking a hands‑on, operationally strong VP of Cyber Security and Compliance to lead enterprise‑wide cyber security, governance and risk management. This position calls for someone who will not only shape and define our cyber security strategy but actively drive its implementation and execution throughout the organization. The role combines cyber security leadership, compliance oversight, and close partnership with our legal and privacy teams, requiring practical engagement and direct involvement in daily operations.
In this role, you will be responsible for developing, steering, and hands‑on execution of the company's cyber security strategy, ensuring robust protection of our digital assets, actively supporting the business in all security related matters, and leading our IT Crisis Management capability. You will be a member of the IT Management team and play an integral role in the Data Privacy Office, directly supporting privacy governance and actively driving compliance and ensuring alignment between cybersecurity and privacy requirements through practical activities.
Within the Cyber Security function, you will work directly with a virtual security operations team made up of IT operational colleagues and a highly skilled IT Security Lead. You will also collaborate with external partners, overseeing and directly engaging with the technical and operational aspects of our operations to ensure they are executed effectively and align with our strategic objectives. You do not have any direct reports in this role.
Key Responsibilities
Cyber Security Leadership
- Own and execute the company's cyber security strategy, ensuring alignment with business objectives and emerging regulatory requirements.
- Lead the development of policies, governance frameworks, and security controls across the organization.
- Oversee risk assessments, threat modelling, and overall cyber risk management.
Regulatory & Compliance
- Monitor and interpret evolving digital regulations, with a significant current focus on NIS2, and other applicable frameworks.
- As a member of Group Privacy Office, you are part of a small group driving the privacy work within Permobil forward. You are collaborating with colleagues in the legal department on data protection matters, ensuring Data Privacy Compliance in all countries where we operate including supporting privacy‑by‑design initiatives.
IT Crisis & Incident Management
- Serve as the lead of IT Crisis Management, including leadership during major security incidents and coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure that crisis playbooks, communication plans, and incident response processes are maintained and tested.
Business Partnership
- Act as a senior advisor to business units on cyber risks, secure digital development, and security related compliance matters.
- Support digitalization initiatives by ensuring secure and compliant implementation of new technologies and services.
Team Leadership
- Work closely with the IT Security Lead and technical teams, proactively building strong, trusting relationships and fostering effective collaboration with stakeholders across all areas of the organisation.
Qualifications
- Several years of experience in senior cyber security roles, ideally with strategic or managerial responsibility.
- Strong understanding of modern cyber threats, risk management, security governance, and security architecture.
- Experience working with regulatory frameworks such as NIS2, GDPR, and security standards (ISO 27001, NIST, etc.).
- Knowledge of Medical cybersecurity regulations for medical products.
- Experience in incident response and IT crisis management.
- Ability to balance strategic oversight with understanding of technical security.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across business, IT, and legal functions.
