Job description

Business Developer at UMC – Drive Growth and Diversification.

Hæger & Carlsson is recruiting a Business Developer for Uppsala Monitoring Centre (UMC). A new position within the UMC organisation reporting to the Head of the External Engagement department. The Business developer will drive growth, expansion and diversification and primarily focus on in-licensing and business development opportunities in line with the missions of the organization.

Qualification Requirements:

  • Experience working with either business development, analysis and/or investments within life sciences, data sciences or tech.
  • Proven experience working in complex cross-functional teams and to interface with multiple stakeholders internally and externally
  • Business development including business intelligence, due diligence and negotiations
  • Excellent analytical skills and a profound financial acumen
  • Working understanding of business law for licensing and mergers & acquisitions is desirable
  • Understanding of product development of digital solutions and services is desirable

Through an agreement between the Government of Sweden and the World Health Organization (WHO), UMC operates the Programme for International Drug Monitoring, supporting over 180 member countries and regions in strengthening safety surveillance, and maintains VigiBase, the WHO global database of adverse event reports. In addition, UMC provides international standards and related digital solutions for secure exchange of pharmacovigilance data, including a global medicine and vaccine terminology for identification of medicinal products.
