Job description

Testing plays a central role in ensuring that our marine products perform reliably in real-world environments. As a Test Engineer at CPAC Systems, you will work hands-on with testing of systems and applications used onboard boats, getting close to both the technology and how the products are actually used.

Your primary workspace will be our marine lab at the CPAC office, where you will have access to the hardware, systems and equipment needed to test complete solutions. The role can also take you outside the lab and closer to the actual application – testing and troubleshooting systems onsite and onboard real boats.

Your focus will be on application-level and manual testing, where understanding the complete system is just as important as finding individual faults. You will investigate behavior, troubleshoot issues and verify that requirements are fulfilled in environments that reflect how our products are actually used.

What you will do
  • Plan and perform manual testing of marine systems and applications
  • Translate requirements into clear and relevant test cases
  • Analyze test results, investigate deviations and troubleshoot issues across software and hardware
  • Work with communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Modbus and Ethernet
  • Use CAN analysis tools such as PCAN-Explorer to analyze communication and system behavior
  • Document test cases, results and findings in tools such as Jira and Confluence
  • Collaborate closely with developers, system engineers and other disciplines throughout the development process
  • Take part in testing onsite and onboard boats to validate products in real marine environments
Who are you?

You genuinely enjoy testing and troubleshooting. When something does not behave as expected, you want to understand why. You are curious about how different parts of a system interact and enjoy getting hands-on with the actual product. You like combining structured testing with practical problem-solving and are comfortable moving between requirements, test cases, logs, communication interfaces and physical hardware.
We are looking for someone at the beginning of their career, with up to 2 years of relevant experience. You may already have some experience within testing and verification, or be a recent graduate with a strong interest in testing.

We believe you have
  • A Bachelor’s degree or relevant education such as YH
  • Knowledge or experience in manual testing and verification
  • Experience or understanding of writing and working with test cases
  • Fluent Swedish and good English skills, as both languages are used in our daily work
It is a plus if you have experience with
  • Requirements and requirement-based testing
  • CAN and CAN analysis tools
  • Communication interfaces such as CAN, LIN, Modbus or Ethernet
  • Jira and Confluence, or similar tools
  • Embedded systems, automotive, marine or other hardware-near environments
Why Test Engineer at CPAC Systems?

From lab to open water
Your primary workspace is our marine lab, where you have direct access to the hardware, systems and equipment you are testing. But testing does not always stop at the lab door – you may also head out onsite and onboard real boats to see how the technology performs in its actual environment.

Everything under one roof
We develop software, hardware and electronics under the same roof and cover almost the entire journey from idea to finished product. This gives you the opportunity to understand the complete system and work closely with the engineers behind each part of it.

An onsite role, close to the product
This is a five-day-a-week onsite role, as your work depends on access to our marine lab, products and test equipment. It also means being surrounded by the people developing the systems you test, making collaboration and troubleshooting a natural part of your everyday work.
