Plagazi AB seeks a Technical Project Director to lead FEED activities for a first-of-its-kind hydrogen project in Sweden. You will coordinate engineering across disciplines, oversee EPC contractors, and steer interfaces with stakeholders to meet milestones.
The role requires a master’s in engineering and 10+ years in large-scale infra projects, with fluency in Swedish/English. Based in Gothenburg HQ with hybrid work options, contributing to the decarbonization agenda.
Plagazi is a waste-to-x project developer and technology provider with the mission to decarbonize industry and the energy system. Plagazi was founded in 2008 and completed its first major funding round in 2022 raising more than 50 MSEK. Plagazi owns the Patented Plagazi Process® that deploys plasma gasification technology to convert non-recyclable waste into hydrogen whilst capturing carbon dioxide (CO2). In October 2024, Plagazi was selected to receive a grant by the EU innovation fund to support Plagazi’s flagship project in Sweden.
By 2027, it is our ambition to deploy our first commercial project in Gävle, Sweden to decarbonise local industry and leverage carbon capture, utilisation & storage (CCUS) to avoid greenhouse gas emissions.
We are looking for a motivated, purpose-driven individual to join our growing & diverse organisation. Our people are encouraged to learn in a flexible environment that values everyone for their contributions. We are building a company that revolutionises waste management and sustainable fuels (inc. hydrogen) production practices – one project at a time.
As a Technical Project Director at Plagazi, you will serve as the central leader for all technical workstreams during the Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) phase of our commercial-scale hydrogen project in Gävle. Reporting directly to the CEO, you will oversee the engineering efforts of our EPC contractor and various sub-suppliers, ensuring quality, timeliness, and alignment with project and funding milestones.
You will coordinate engineering deliverables, supervise FEED workflows, and act as the technical lead in contract, guarantee, and interface discussions with key project stakeholders. The ideal candidate has deep experience with large-scale infrastructure projects, particularly in the energy transition space, and thrives in fast-paced, high-impact environments.
This role offers a rare opportunity to lead a first-of-a-kind waste-to-hydrogen project and contribute directly to Europe’s decarbonization agenda.
If you are passionate about leaving a lasting impact on our society by advancing industrial decarbonization, Plagazi offers a unique opportunity to become part of a purpose-driven & ambitious team, where you can have real impact.
You will get the opportunity to shape your own career development by working with a cross-functional team within the dynamic climate tech environment. You will be based in our HQ, located in downtown Gothenburg with flexible work-from-home options.
