About the position

As Technical Discipline Manager – Electrical, you will be a key player in the overall Transformation Office Project together with the project organisation and report to the Director of Project Management. In this project we are a growing team of around 80 people responsible for planning and executing the construction of SSAB’s new fossil-free steel mill. You will be responsible for the design and implementation of all electrical disciplines i.e. process electrification, building electrification and electrical distribution, covering all areas of the new fossil-free steel mill. Your team consist of Technical Project Managers and technical specialists.

This position is preferably located in Luleå - northern part of Sweden. Even if we work hybrid depending on project phase, it will require extensive travelling to Luleå site regularly.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead your team and ensure that all technical aspects of the discipline align with project goals.
  • Facilitate collaboration with other discipline leads and Construction Area Project Managers.
  • Monitor that the quality assurance of deliverables within the discipline is adapted and adequate.
  • Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies. Communicate risks and their implications to the Project Management Office and Project Execution Team.
  • Track progress and implement necessary adjustments to meet objectives.

About you

  • Strong leadership skills with experience both as a line manager and project manager in major CAPEX projects—brownfield or greenfield.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical standards (SS-EN etc) and safety requirements (S1/S2).
  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in electrical power engineering is a merit.
  • Fluency in English is required, while Finnish or Swedish is an advantage.
