Overview

Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group with high academic results and a diverse, energetic staff. Teaching is conducted in both Swedish and English, and the language of meetings and staff communication is English. IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at compulsory school level with 48 schools and around 32,000 students. A criminal background check is required for all applicants prior to any offer of employment, including extracts from belastningsregistret from Polismyndigheten for Sweden and equivalent records from abroad.

Responsibilities
  • Join the Aesthetics Team as a Bildlärare (visual arts) for a cohort in year 6–9, starting January 2026.
  • Be part of a strong teaching collective at IES Huddinge, a bilingual school with instruction in Swedish and English.
  • Provide enthusiastic subject leadership, strong classroom management, and genuine interest in student wellbeing.
  • Possibly undertake Förstelärarskap (leading teacher) with links to Skapande skola, development, and deepening the content of Bildämnet.
  • Collaborate within an annual-based arbetslag and an ämneslag to monitor academic progress and ensure student wellbeing.
  • Offer mentorship to 16 students and contribute as a positive, creative team player who shares ideas and is open to learning from others.
Qualifications
  • Educated teacher with strong subject enthusiasm, classroom leadership, and concern for student wellbeing.
  • Eligible with Swedish medical license (läkarlegitimation) and outstanding academic merits may qualify for Förstelärarskap.
  • Fluency in English to communicate in everyday staff interactions; English is the professional language for much of the school community.
  • Ability to participate in a bilingual environment and contribute to a strong school culture.
