Job summary

Agoda is seeking a senior product leader to own the global tax platform, reporting to the VP of Product, FinTech. Based in Bangkok with relocation, you will guide strategy, roadmap, and execution across tax master data, determination, invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting.

You will lead a team of senior PMs, partner with Group Tax, drive multi-year transformations, and set governance, metrics, and stakeholder communications to ensure platform reliability at scale.

Qualifications

• 10+ years in product management or similar roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Experience building or transforming in-house tax platforms at large-scale digital businesses.
• Deep knowledge of indirect tax for digital businesses (VAT/GST, marketplace and deemed-supplier regimes, withholding tax).
• Hands-on experience across the core tax platform stack: tax master data, rules configuration, tax determination, invoicing/e-invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting controls.
• Ability to break down ambiguous, multi-year problems into clear product milestones, with prioritization and risk management.
• Excellent communication skills in English, capable of explaining complex tax and platform topics to senior non-technical stakeholders.
• Comfortable working from the Bangkok office (hybrid model) and collaborating with globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

• Own vision, strategy, and roadmap for Agoda’s global tax platform across master data, determination, invoicing, reconciliation, reporting, and controls.
• Partner with Group Tax to translate regulatory, audit, and business requirements into clear product outcomes.
• Lead product teams on multi-year transformation initiatives to support multiple products, models, and brands.
• Make buy-vs-build decisions for tax engines and related services, and own long-term integration strategy.
• Collaborate with engineering leads to shape architecture, prioritize investments, and ensure platform reliability at scale.
• Design and champion governance for tax configuration and change management.
• Drive clear success metrics and report progress to senior leadership.

The Opportunity

This Bangkok‑based role (relocation provided) reports directly to the VP of Product, FinTech. You will manage a team of senior product managers and own Agoda’s global tax platform, shaping strategy, roadmap, and execution for indirect tax across all business lines.

What You’ll Need To Succeed

• 10+ years in product management or similar roles, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
• Proven track record building or transforming in‑house tax platforms at large‑scale digital businesses in regulated, time‑sensitive environments.
• Deep command of indirect tax for digital businesses (VAT/GST, marketplace and deemed‑supplier regimes, withholding tax) and related system/data requirements.
• Hands‑on experience across the core tax platform stack: tax master data, rules configuration, tax determination, invoicing/e‑invoicing, reconciliation, and reporting controls.
• Ability to break down ambiguous, multi‑year problems into clear product milestones, with strong judgment on prioritization and risk management.

It’s great if you have

• Experience integrating or working with leading indirect tax engines, e‑invoicing providers, or tax content vendors.
• Familiarity with large‑scale financial and data platforms (e.g., ERP, consolidation/reporting tools, financial data pipelines) and how tax systems interact with them.
• Background in a quantitative or technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Economics) or relevant professional qualifications in Tax or Accounting combined with strong product and systems exposure.
• Experience working in multicultural, high‑growth environments and navigating complexity across many countries and tax jurisdictions.
