Emerson in Sweden is seeking a System Sales Engineer to grow our automation systems and software business across Sweden. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or automation.
• Minimum five years in automation or process industries sales.

• Fluent in Swedish and English.

Responsibilities

• Implement and refine local sales strategy using Emerson’s systems, software, services, and automation portfolio.
• Identify, qualify, develop, and close capital project opportunities while owning the annual order budget and achieving the assigned sales targets.
• Manage complex sales cycles from initial prospecting through proposal development, contract negotiation, award, and handover to the project execution team.
• Build and coordinate cross-functional pursuit teams, working with proposal specialists, application engineers, project managers, services, and subject‑matter experts.
• Develop existing accounts, establish relationships with key decision‑makers, and translate customer requirements into competitive technical and commercial solutions.
• Maintain accurate forecasts and CRM information, monitor market and competitor developments, and represent Emerson at customer meetings and relevant industry events.
• Support customers in their digitalization journey through automation, optimization and software solutions.
• Primary responsibility is the Swedish market while collaborating closely with Nordic and European colleagues.

Who You Are:

You are an experienced sales engineer with a background in the process industries and proven success in complex technical sales and project pursuits. You anticipate customer needs and set objectives that align with broader organizational goals. Developing customer relationships comes naturally to you, and you collaborate effectively with cross‑functional pursuit teams.

For This Role, You Will Need:

• A bachelor’s degree or higher in engineering, automation, or a related technical discipline.
• Minimum five years of experience in automation, automation, process industries, technical sales, business development, or capital project pursuits.
• Proven experience managing complex sales opportunities from initial prospecting through negotiation and closure.
• Strong communication, presentation, networking, and relationship‑management skills.
• Professional proficiency in Swedish and English.
• Willingness to travel within Sweden, approximately 25% - 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications That Set You Apart:

• Technical sales experience involving process automation systems, industrial software, or related services.
• An established professional network and customer relationships within relevant Swedish process‑industry sectors.
• Experience managing large capital projects involving multiple technical, commercial, and procurement stakeholders.
• Strong strategic and analytical capabilities, combined with a disciplined approach to forecasting and CRM management.
• Experience collaborating across functions, countries, and business units within an international matrix organization.
• Familiarity with the chemical, refining, energy, metals and mining, or defence industries.
