Job description

Do you enjoy working with Linux, infrastructure and business-critical platforms where reliability really matters? Join Infrastructure Applications within Mobile Core Network and become part of a team responsible for central infrastructure services supporting Tele2's network and organization.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Infrastructure Applications is a team of seven engineers responsible for central infrastructure services and platforms within Tele2. We operate and develop business-critical systems used across the organization and are part of Mobile Core Network, responsible for ensuring stable and secure operation and development of Tele2's mobile network.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Operating, maintaining and developing Linux-based systems and infrastructure services
  • Troubleshooting and problem solving in complex technical environments
  • Automating recurring operational tasks and improving existing ways of working
  • Lifecycle management, including patching, upgrades and platform maintenance
  • Working with central services within areas such as DNS, logging and observability
  • Participating in technical projects and contributing to knowledge sharing within the team
Who are you?

To thrive and succeed in this role, we believe that you are technically curious, enjoy solving complex problems and continuously look for opportunities to improve and automate operational work.

You are comfortable working both independently and as part of a team and enjoy an environment where multiple systems, platforms and technical dependencies interact.

We believe you have:
  • Strong experience working with and operating Linux environments
  • Experience from large-scale virtual and physical server environments
  • Good understanding of networking and IT infrastructure
  • Experience with scripting and automation
  • Experience with programming or scripting languages such as Python, Go and/or C
  • Understanding of lifecycle management, patching and system upgrades
  • Good communication skills in English, both written and spoken

We do not expect you to know everything from day one. Technical curiosity, problem-solving ability and a willingness to learn and develop are just as important to us as experience with a specific product or technology. We place great importance on who you are as a person. You enjoy sharing knowledge, helping colleagues and contributing to a collaborative environment. You are comfortable taking responsibility for your work while knowing when to involve the rest of the team.

Preferred Qualifications
  • DNS infrastructure
  • Elasticsearch
  • Logging and observability
  • Infrastructure within telecommunications
  • Infrastructure automation
  • Experience from highly available and business-critical infrastructure environments
A few words from the manager

Infrastructure Applications is a team with broad technical responsibility and a lot of knowledge. We operate platforms that are important to many parts of Tele2, which means that what we do genuinely matters.

As a manager, I value trust, openness and collaboration. I want people in the team to have the freedom to take ownership, challenge existing ways of working and develop in the technical areas that interest them. We have a strong team culture where we help each other, share knowledge and solve problems together.

If you enjoy understanding how things work, solving challenging technical problems and want the opportunity to develop across several infrastructure areas rather than being limited to a single technology, I think you will enjoy working with us.

Why Tele2

  • Inclusive and supportive environment - We believe in fostering a creative and flexible workplace where people can bring their whole selves to work. Diversity and inclusion are important to us, and we strive to create an environment where people feel welcome, respected and supported in growing both personally and professionally.
