Would you like to help ensure children’s rights are realized by working with sustainability at a nonprofit organization? Then this is the role for you. Erikshjälpen Second Hand now Erikshjälpen Second Hand a sustainability coordinator with a focus on the environment.

Erikshjälpen is a child rights organisation a nonprofit secondhand business. Together, we share a common vision: a better where children’s dreams come true.

We work to combat poverty and vulnerability by promoting children's rights in 16 countries. In Sweden, children's rights work is mainly carried out through Erikshjälpen Framtidsverkstad, in close collaboration with our second-hand stores. In total, we operate around 50 Erikshjälpen Second Hand in Sweden and Norway. One of Erikshjälpen Second Hand's missions is to generate as much surplus possible for the children's rights organization Erikshjälpen.

Description of the project

As a sustainability coordinator with a focus on the environment, you’ll be part of our sustainability department, where we work on environmental and social sustainability based on our goals as a secondhand retailer. By clearly communicating our mission, you’ll contribute to environmentally sustainable consumption in an increasingly attractive and competitive market.

Examples of work tasks:

  • You are responsible for the goals, results, and Monitoring Erikshjälpen Second Hand’s environmental efforts.
  • You will lead the annual sustainability reporting effort, support management, and drive the organization’s work on environmental issues.
  • You monitor developments in the field of sustainability and ensure that the organization stays up to date on legal requirements related to environmental and sustainability issues, and collaborate with other organisations.
  • Together with Erikshjälpen, you will lead the environmental certification efforts.
  • You will provide training on environmental issues to various parts of the organization as needed and serve as a support resource for your colleagues.
  • The role also includes certain administrative tasks related to social services.
  • You are part of Erikshjälpen's advocacy efforts in consultation with Second Hand's management.
  • You will report to the Head of Sustainability.
Qualifications

You have:

  • a college-level education in the field of environmental studies or experience deemed equivalent.
  • experience working as a project manager.
  • interest in sustainability efforts, including both social and environmental sustainability.

It is an advantage if you have:

  • experience working in the field of climate and the environment.
  • Experience keeping up to date with legal requirements, particularly in the textile industry.
  • Previous experience in retail.
