Job summary

Volvo Group is seeking a Supplier Development professional to lead supplier programs across Europe, focusing on quality, cost, and sustainability. You drive APQP/PPAP activities for projects and shape purchasing strategies in close collaboration with our Technology teams.

You will educate and mentor teams on cost to quality requirements, lead sustainability initiatives, and push continuous improvement within cross-functional and remote settings. Flexible location options are offered.

Qualifications

• University degree in engineering or similar.
• Experience from quality/production area.
• Knowledge in supply chain management and Lean manufacturing.
• Educational or practical experience within sheet metal / plastics processes preferable.
• Good communication skills in English + local language.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with suppliers to create mutual benefits.
• Involved in evaluation and selection of suppliers; drive APQP/PPAP activities with Technology.
• Create and execute Purchasing strategies; encourage supplier development and innovation.
• Educate and mentor on cost, quality, and sustainability requirements.
• Steer sustainability supply chain programs and productivity improvements (VPS/Lean).
• Guide continuous improvement actions and work cross-functionally, including remote management.

Key responsibilities will include building strong relationship with our suppliers that creates benefits for both parties. You will be involved in evaluation and selection of suppliers, and the driver of APQP/PPAP activities for selected projects working close to our Technology organization. You will also be a part of creation and execution of Purchasing strategies, and with that comes encouraging our suppliers for development and increase innovation.

You will in your role also educate and mentor activities from cost to quality requirements. To steer sustainability supply chain management programs and drive productivity improvement program such as VPS/Lean and guide continuous improvement actions will also be in your responsibility.

You are experienced in driving project management in an effective way and have knowledge about product development.

Your communicational capability makes it easy for you to make contact with both internal and external stakeholders, you have the ability to manage and influence others, as well as you are structured and focused on the execution. You are analytic and have a sustainable mindset. We think that you are comfortable in meeting and working cross-functional and are able to work within remote management, and also to have parallel activities going on.

KNOWLEDGE/EXPERIENCE we are looking for

• University degree in engineering or similar

• Knowledge in supply chain management and Lean manufacturing
• Educational or practical experience within sheet metal / plastics processes preferable
