Job summary

Volvo Construction Equipment in Hallsberg seeks an Environmental Engineer to develop and drive environmental initiatives, ensuring compliance with legislation and progress toward a climate‑neutral, circular production system. You will lead permitting, monitor data, and implement continuous improvements across functions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management, Sustainability, or related field.
  • Several years of experience in advanced environmental management, preferably within manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and experience working with regulatory authorities and environmental permitting processes.
  • Experience leading change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Knowledge of standards and frameworks such as ISO 14001, the GHG Protocol, CSRD, the EU Taxonomy, or circular economy principles.
  • Experience with climate and energy calculations as well as environmental risk assessments.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience working with environmental data, performance monitoring, and documentation.
  • The ability to engage stakeholders, provide training, and collaborate effectively across different functions.
  • Excellent communication skills in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.

Responsibilities

  • Lead cross‑functional initiatives and provide environmental training across the organization.
  • Communicate and explain complex environmental topics in a clear and educational manner, including environmental legislation, biodiversity, chemicals management, water management, energy, and circularity.
  • Contribute to the development of our Environmental Management System and ensure compliance with ISO 14001 and other relevant requirements.

What You Will Do

As an Environmental Engineer at Volvo Construction Equipment in Hallsberg, you will play a key role in developing and driving our environmental initiatives. You will work both strategically and operationally to ensure that our operations comply with environmental legislation, achieve our sustainability targets, and continue progressing toward a more climate‑neutral and circular production system.

In This Role, You Will
