Job summary

Consilium Safety Group in Gothenburg, Sweden, is seeking a UX Designer for a temporary 12-month assignment. You will own the user experience for our Safety Management System and support other products as needed, operating in safety-critical environments where usability and reliability matter.

As the sole designer, you will shape new features, document flows and edge cases, and collaborate with engineers and domain experts to balance user needs with safety and technical constraints.

Qualifications

• Experience in safety-critical systems where reliability matters.
• Able to work independently and take ownership.
• Ability to learn users, products, and contexts.
• Strong attention to detail and edge cases.
• Clear communication of design decisions and documentation.
• Fluency in English (written and spoken).

Responsibilities

• Own and drive the user experience of safety-critical products.
• Work closely with developers and domain experts to design new functionality and evaluate existing workflows.
• Build a strong understanding of operational workflows, user needs, and system behaviours.
• Balance user needs, operational workflows, technical constraints, and safety requirements when designing solutions.
• Create design documentation that clearly describes flows, edge cases, exceptions, and state handling, helping development teams implement solutions with confidence.
