Astek Sweden is looking for a Software Tester to join a team focused on Complete Vehicle Integration Testing, supporting verification and validation of embedded electrical systems through SIL and HIL testing. You will contribute to the full testing lifecycle and work with engineers to ensure high quality and safety across projects.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant engineering or computer science field.
• Experience in verification and validation activities within embedded systems.
• Hands-on software testing, fault analysis, and defect investigation.
• Proficient in Python for test development and data analysis.
• ISTQB Foundation Level or higher.
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform complete vehicle integration testing and verify electrical systems end-to-end.
• Execute SIL/HIL tests for new developments and existing functionalities.
• Participate in testing lifecycle phases: planning, coordination, execution, reporting.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis of defects and system issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure safety requirements are met.

Job description

We are looking for a Software Tester to join a team focused on Complete Vehicle Integration Testing, supporting the verification and validation of embedded electrical systems through SIL (Software-in-the-Loop) and HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) testing. This role is ideal for a testing professional with a strong technical background, a passion for quality, and an analytical approach to problem-solving.

The successful candidate will contribute to the full testing lifecycle, ensuring that complex embedded systems meet high standards of functionality, quality, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform complete vehicle integration testing and verify electrical systems from an end-to-end integration perspective.
• Execute SIL/HIL tests for both new developments and existing functionalities.
• Participate in all phases of the testing lifecycle, including test planning, coordination, execution, and reporting.
• Investigate, troubleshoot, and perform root cause analysis of identified defects and system issues.
• Contribute to the continuous improvement of test methods, tools, and test environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure embedded systems meet quality and safety requirements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Embedded Systems, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in verification and validation (V&V) activities within embedded systems or related domains.
• Hands-on experience with software testing, fault analysis, and defect investigation.
• Proficiency in Python for test development, automation, or data analysis.
• ISTQB Certification (Foundation Level or higher).
• Strong analytical, communication, and teamwork skills, with a genuine interest in testing, technology, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with SIL and/or HIL testing environments.
• Knowledge of complete vehicle integration testing processes.
• Experience working with electrical systems from an integration perspective.
• Experience within automotive, transportation, or embedded systems industries.
• Commercial driver's license for trucks is considered an advantage.
