Job summary

Astek in Göteborg is seeking an HIL Engineer to join our hardware-software testing team. You will develop and maintain Hardware-in-the-Loop environments to verify vehicle systems, setting up rigs, configuring tests, and improving workflows.

You\'ll collaborate across functions, tackle technical challenges, and help deliver reliable, scalable test platforms. A degree in engineering is preferred, with hands-on experience in HIL, MATLAB/Simulink, dSPACE, Python, and CAN tools.

Qualifications

• Experience with HIL hardware and software.
• Proficiency with MATLAB/Simulink and dSPACE.
• Scripting or programming (e.g. Python).
• Familiarity with CAN tools like CANoe/CANalyzer.
• Git version control.
• CI/CD pipelines or automated testing environments.
• Ability to work in cross-functional teams and communicate with stakeholders.

About the role

As an HIL Engineer, you will be part of developing and maintaining Hardware-in-the-Loop environments used to verify and validate vehicle systems. You'll work closely with different teams across the organization, supporting both development and testing activities. The role involves everything from setting up and configuring HIL rigs to improving workflows and ensuring reliable test environments. You will also collaborate with stakeholders to understand needs, solve technical challenges, and contribute to efficient and high-quality testing processes.

We believe you have experience with:

• Working with HIL systems, both from a hardware and software perspective
• Tools such as Matlab/Simulink, dSPACE or similar
• Scripting or programming (e.g. Python)
• CAN tools like CANoe or CANalyzer
• Version control systems such as Git
• CI/CD pipelines or automated testing environments
• Working in cross-functional teams and communicating with different stakeholders

Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant engineering field is preferred.

A valid driver's license (B) is considered a plus.
