Job summary

SSC Space in Sweden seeks a Software Engineering Manager to lead 2-3 software teams within SSC Connect, guiding architecture, delivery and continuous improvement to connect customers with their satellites.

You will recruit and mentor engineers, drive agile practices, ensure high-quality standards and regulatory compliance, and collaborate with product owners and architects to align with business goals.

We offer the opportunity to join the Software unit within SSC Connect, which is entrusted to develop and maintain critical systems required to connect our customers with their satellites.

As a Software Engineering Manager, you will support and guide 2-3 software engineering teams to keep them motivated, well-staffed, and aligned with our company goals. You’ll provide leadership, encouragement, and direction to the teams, ensuring that their work aligns with business objectives. At the same time, you’ll help maintain high technical standards and foster a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

You will be reporting to the Global Software Engineering Manager and be part of a leadership team together with other Software Engineering managers, Product owners and Architects.

• Has a proven track record in recruiting, onboarding, and nurturing engineering talent, with experience in team development and mentorship
• Is well-versed in Agile methodologies and can support teams in adopting best practices and refining their workflows
• Brings a background in software development, with strong technical expertise
• Understands the importance of quality standards and regulatory requirements

We Also Believe You Have

• 5+ years of experience as a Software Engineering Manager
• 3+ years of experience as a Software Developer
• Master’s or PhD in a technical field, or equivalent professional experience

Additional Requirements

This position requires a European citizenship and occasional travelling within and outside Sweden.

This position requires a background control and security interview before employment.
