Job summary

Tata Technologies in Gothenburg, Sweden, seeks an experienced Software Engineering Analyst to join the System Testing team within CAPS. You will validate, verify and fault-trace central application software for vehicle systems, contributing to automated CI workflows and cross-disciplinary collaboration across HW, SW and System engineering.

You’ll work with tools like CANalyzer, INCA, ParallelDiag and DLT, and apply CAPL or Python for testing tasks in a fast-moving automotive context.

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer / Electrical / IT Engineering, Mechatronics or similar area of education.
• Proven experience in software testing in automotive.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience working with vehicle systems and ECUs.
• Ability to read and interpret logs, traces, and diagnostic data.
• Hands-on experience in test design and execution.
• Experience with tools such as CANalyzer, INCA, ParallelDiag, DSA, and DLT.
• Familiarity with debugging tools and test frameworks.
• Knowledge of CI and automation (with tools Git, Zuul, CMake, Bazel), automotive communication and ISO 26262.
• Programming (preferably CAPL and Python).

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with your team, ensure correctness and quality of central application software in the vehicle system.
• Test across domain and complete levels in multiple environments—cars, boxcars, VIL and HIL rigs.
• Contribute to implementing and executing an automated workflow with CI and testing of new software.
• Collaborate with HW, SW and System engineering teams to expand knowledge across fields.

The role

At Central Application and Platform Services (CAPS), we are looking for an experienced Software Engineering Analyst to join our System Testing team. The team validates, verifies and fault-traces functionality in the CAPS domain – providing essential functionality to the software & electronic platform and legacy architectures. Examples of such services include Vehicle Modes, Resource Management - including wakeup and shutdown of the vehicle - and Movement Enabler.

Responsibilities

• In collaboration with the other members of your empowered team, you will be a key player in ensuring correctness and quality of central application software in the vehicle system.
• Testing is done mainly on domain and complete level, in multiple testing environments – cars, boxcars, VIL and HIL rigs.
• You will also contribute to the implementation and execution of an automated workflow with continuous integration and testing of new software.
• You will work in close collaboration with a broad spectrum of competences within HW, SW and System engineering – expanding your knowledge within many different fields.

Experience / Background
