Overview

The opportunity to enable the green energy transition by building customized embedded control systems comprising software and hardware to meet customers\' and the world\'s needs for sustainable, flexible, and secure energy. The role supports HVDC (High Voltage Direct Current) technology for long-distance energy transmission, improving energy transfer efficiency and grid stability. You will be part of Hitachi Energy\'s Global HVDC Control & Protection Software team, which covers Converter Control, Protection, System Solutions, Sequence & Interlocking, System Supervision & System Communication, Auxiliary Power Systems and Simulation & Verification, with interfaces to other domains such as Control & Protection, IT/OT, Hardware and Operations. This is a hybrid role with the possibility to work remotely where applicable and agreed with the hiring manager.

Responsibilities
  • To work on the maintenance and development of the control and protection code library which is used in HVDC projects.
  • To be involved in the testing of code changes.
  • To have a sense of responsibility and ownership, being capable of planning and organizing your daily work.
  • To be a problem solver who takes initiative to solve challenges together with stakeholders.

Your background
  • You hold a Bachelor\'s or Master\'s degree within a relevant field, for example Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, High Voltage, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering.
  • You have work proficiency in English, both written and spoken. Additional languages, such as Swedish, are an advantage.
  • You have an interest or experience within software development and programming.
  • You have an interest or experience in digital control technology and signal processing.
  • You have an interest or experience from the electric power industry.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and the ability to create strong working relationships.
