Job summary

KPIT is seeking an experienced embedded software engineer in Göteborg to design and implement vehicle motion control software for longitudinal functions. You will work on Core System Platform applications and VCUs using model-based development and C/C++.

You will create automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and support integration and releases while collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of embedded software development experience.
• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in Computer/Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Strong C++ and Python programming skills.
• Experience with model-based development (Simulink) and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance vehicle motion control software for longitudinal vehicle control functions, including acceleration, deceleration, propulsion, energy storage, and braking systems.
• Design and implement software for Core System Platform applications and Vehicle Control Units (VCUs) using model-based development and C/C++.
• Create and maintain automated test cases and CI/CD pipelines to ensure software quality and reliability.
• Perform debugging, testing, integration, and root cause analysis throughout the software development lifecycle.
• Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to define requirements, develop solutions, and support system integration activities.
• Support software releases by ensuring functionality, performance, and compliance with development standards.
• Contribute to continuous improvement of development methods, tools, and software architecture.

Skills & Requirements

Required Skills

• 3+ years of experience in software development within embedded systems environments.
• Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field.
• Strong programming experience in C++ and Python.
• Experience with Control Engineering and model-based development methodologies (e.g., Simulink).
• Hands-on experience with CI/CD and automated software testing.
• Experience developing applications using application frameworks and managing application lifecycle and execution contexts.
• Knowledge of distributed electrical systems and vehicle electrical/electronic architectures.
• Experience with test and diagnostic tools such as Wireshark, CANoe, and CANalyzer.
• Understanding of embedded software development, integration, and verification processes.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with Ethernet-based communication protocols.
• Knowledge of automotive base technologies, including Diagnostics, Software Download (SWDL), Network Communications
• Experience in automotive software development and ECU-based systems.
• Familiarity with Agile development methodologies.
