Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a skilled Cloud Platform Engineer to build and operate the platform powering our services, including GKE clusters, controllers, and Terraform definitions.

You will own the path from commit to production with CI/CD and GitOps, strengthen networking and access controls, and drive reliability, observability, and production readiness across teams. Collaborate on large projects and balance AI-assisted work with human judgment.

Qualifications

• Experience with Kubernetes controllers, core components, and CNI networking.
• Proficiency with Terraform, Helm or Kustomize, CI/CD, and GitOps (ArgoCD).
• Solid understanding of VPCs, firewalls, network policies, and IAM.
• Strong Unix/Linux troubleshooting and monitoring fundamentals.
• Comfort with AI-assisted development and balanced human oversight.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate the platform: GKE clusters, controllers, Terraform.
• Own the path from commit to production: CI/CD, GitOps, safe releases.
• Strengthen networking and routing: VPC, firewalls, network policies.
• Govern access and guardrails: IAM, policy-as-code, break-glass paths.
• Grow reliability and observability: alerts, runbooks, SLOs, tracing.
• Enable product teams and raise the bar: ensure production readiness as default.
