Job summary

Brunel in Boden, Sweden seeks an experienced Electrical & Automation Commissioning Engineer to support the commissioning of a prototype hydrogen-to-green steel plant. You will oversee installation, testing and start‑up of LV/MV/HV distribution, drives and associated equipment, from installation through cold and hot commissioning.

The role requires strong electrical engineering knowledge, systemisation and completions management, with collaboration across mechanical, instrumentation and process

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Extensive experience in electrical commissioning within steel plants or heavy industry.
• Proven cold and hot commissioning experience.
• Strong understanding of LV/MV/HV distribution, motors and switchgear.
• Knowledge of protection relays, coordination and transformer protection.
• Experience with systemisation and completions management.
• Familiarity with hazardous area electrical requirements.

Responsibilities

• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning and start-up of electrical and automation systems.
• Execute commissioning of LV/MV/HV distribution systems, transformers, switchboards, motors and drives.
• Develop and execute commissioning plans, procedures and test scripts.
• Conduct cold and hot commissioning of steel plant equipment per specs and schedule.
• Verify installation and readiness before energisation and operation.
• Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams for system handover and close-out.
