Job summary

SIL is seeking a BI Developer/Data Scientist to translate business needs into scalable BI solutions and to design, build, and deploy BI systems for analytics platforms.

You will leverage SQL, OLAP, and ETL tools, with Power BI and Oracle BI experience. The role demands 5+ years of experience, strong analytical thinking, and initiative in a Mauritius-based team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist.
• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining.
• In-depth understanding of OLAP and ETL frameworks.
• Familiarity with BI technologies (Power BI, Oracle BI).
• Knowledge of SQL queries and SSRS/SSIS/SSAS and SQL Server.
• Knowledge on ETL tools (Informatica, SSIS, Talend).
• Conversant with databases (Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Proven initiative, innovative mindset, and analytical problem-solving.

• Minimum a Bachelor Degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field


• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience as a BI Developer or Data Scientist


• Background in data warehouse design (e.g. dimensional modelling) and data mining


• In-depth understanding of database management systems, online analytical processing (OLAP) and ETL (Extract, transform, load) framework


• Familiarity with BI technologies (e.g. Microsoft Power BI, Oracle BI)


• Knowledge of SQL queries, SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS) and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and SQL Server Analysis Services (SSAS)


• Knowledge on ETL tools (e.g. Informatica, SSIS, Talend)


• Conversant with databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL)


• Proven abilities to take initiative and be innovative


• Analytical mind with a problem-solving aptitude
