Job summary

Cognizant seeks a senior BI lead to own end-to-end design, development and administration of MicroStrategy and SAP BusinessObjects platforms. You will lead a team of BI developers, drive solution architecture, and collaborate with business stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

You will mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership, while coordinating with data engineering on data quality and integration to ensure robust BI solutions.

Responsibilities

• Optimise report performance, query design and VLDB settings for large data volumes; translate business requirements into technical specs.

Role Summary

The candidate will lead a team of BI developers, drive solution architecture, and work closely with business stakeholders to deliver scalable reporting and analytics solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design, development and delivery of reports, dashboards and documents using MicroStrategy and SAP BusinessObjects (Web Intelligence, Universe Designer / IDT).
• Own solution architecture, data modelling and schema design across the BI landscape.
• Perform MSTR / BO administration - object management, security model, project configuration, intelligence server tuning and upgrades / migrations.
• Optimise report performance, query design and VLDB settings for large data volumes. Translate business requirements into technical specifications and guide the development team through delivery.
• Manage code reviews, best practices, deployment and production support.
• Coordinate with data engineering and source-system teams on data quality and integration.
• Mentor junior developers and provide technical leadership across the engagement.

Mandatory Skills

• Strong hands-on expertise in MicroStrategy (Developer / Architect, Web, Schema & Application objects, Intelligence Server, dossiers / dashboards).
• Strong experience in SAP BusinessObjects (Web Intelligence, Universe design via IDT / UDT, CMC administration). Solid SQL and data warehousing / dimensional modelling concepts (star / snowflake schema).
• Experience with platform administration, upgrades and migrations.
• Performance tuning and troubleshooting of reports and BI servers.
• Strong stakeholder management and team leadership experience.

Good to Have

• Exposure to cloud data platforms (Snowflake, Azure, AWS) and modern BI tools (Power BI / Tableau).
• Experience in the Banking / Financial Services domain.
• Knowledge of ETL tools and scheduling.
