Job summary

Swedish Match, based at our R&D Center in Stockholm, leads research to design and select functional substrate materials for oral nicotine products. Qualifications

• PhD or Master’s degree required in a relevant field.
• Typically 5+ years in material research, product development, or applied R&D.
• Ability to translate mechanistic understanding into material-design recommendations.
• Strong written and verbal communication for technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Develop scientific understanding of how substrate composition and structure affect product functionality.
• Identify key material design parameters and link properties to performance.
• Plan, execute, and document research activities with clear conclusions and recommendations.
• Collaborate with teams to support product development and feasibility studies.
• Scout new technologies and materials relevant to substrate research.
• Present findings and project status to stakeholders and management.
