Job summary

Helsing in Stockholm is seeking a hands-on Staff Software Engineer to anchor our backend architecture, delivering robust Rust/Python systems at the tactical edge. You’ll own zero-to-one projects, mentor engineers, and translate complex designs for product and customers.

You will lead architecture reviews, drive performance optimisations, and mentor our growing team while shipping high‑reliability software across distributed systems and ML pipelines.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to design robust, scalable backend systems.
• Strong systems thinking and long-term design for heterogeneous architectures.
• Excellent written and spoken English communication, able to explain complex ideas.

Responsibilities

• Lead architecture reviews and mentor engineers.
• Prototype and ship features across Rust/Python stack.
• Translate technical designs for non-technical stakeholders.
• Improve reliability, performance, and test architectures across distributed systems.
• Present work at weekly demos and contribute to engineering culture.
